[i]Von Braun's daughter Margrit called Holmes "the superglue of Apollo" as she worked alongside the NASA leader. Holmes was a 21-year-old stenographer at Redstone Arsenal in 1952 when she was asked to interview for a new position. It turned out to be the job as von Braun's aide. Ironically, she never officially interviewed with von Braun. The day of the interview, his wife Maria went into labor with Margrit and von Braun left early to go to the hospital. "I just took it on faith he was going to be a good boss. And he was," Holmes said in a 2012 interview with The Huntsville Times/AL.com.[/i]
